Now I'm not claiming to be a professional translator, and certainly nowhere near to being an interpreter. However, it appears I am the only native English speaker in the building, now. So once they figured out I can not only check English translations over, well hey, they just send me the whole darn document to translate from Polish now! I certainly don't mind, as it actually gives me something to do other than read about previous and upcoming exhibitions (but not doing any work on them). It also is helping out my vocabulary, for sure. Trouble is when I open my mouth. But when it's all on paper it's no problem (metaphorically speaking, perhaps? seeing as I spend all my time at that computer, constantly bumping into the nice plant as seen in the picture, next to the giant mushroom, getting stared at as visitors buying tickets peer through the glass in those doors, right at me). Also, my bilingual art terminology is getting pretty good. I now have used the words for screen-printing, exhibition, screening, tapestry, blackness and whiteness, and the list goes on and on.
